ABOUT ME
My name is Neil McCarthy and I am originally from Windham, New Hampshire, a town just over the border from Massachusetts. I grew up the youngest of three brothers which fostered a competitive and entrepreneurial spirit in me from a young age. When I was in middle school I would often go into the woods of my local golf course to find golf balls to sell and in high school I was known to sell soda out of my backpack. I have alway prided myself on my work ethic and I have had a job since I was 16.
Sports were a large part of my youth and continued with me throughout high school, where I played soccer, lacrosse, track, cross-country, and hockey. In college, I picked up more casual activities like skiing, golf, and hiking and try to do these as much as I can. I am passionate about world history and current events and I try to read as much as I can.
EDUCATION
My education has always been a main focus in my life. I attended Catholic school for 12 years and that has greatly shaped my values and world view. I attended Trinity High School, a Catholic institution in Manchester, New Hampshire that had a focus on volunteering and service. There, I was introduced to engineering through their robotics program, leading me to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering in college. For my college education, I was interested in a school with a global view and a place that would develop me into someone prepared for a competitive world. I found this at Northeastern University, where I was able to do three co-ops, totaling over a year of experience before I even graduated. I also had the opportunity to study abroad in Greece for three months. Coming out of Northeastern, I feel I have reinforced my ambition and prepared for my future career.
